While searching for the legendary "Northwest Passage" to the Pacific Ocean, Henry Hudson discovered the river that bears his name. Ironically, his 4th voyage to the Continent ended tragically when he and his sons were cast adrift by his own crew in the Canadian bay that also bears his name.
