Our Philosophy:
When asked, what makes a great photograph, my friend and mentor, the great Pulitzer Prize winning photograph, Nat Fein (1914-2000), responded: "I could give a crap for a technically perfect photo that has no soul".
Sojourner Photography’s mission is to create images with soul. They are technically solid but that is not their most important attribute. With this in mind, most images were created with a cell phone or inexpensive camera. Why? To save money? Well, NO – it’s to prove that the most important creative machine in your arsenal is not the one that lies in your hands but the one that is located between your ears! Hopefully, the images speak for themselves – photos that tell stories.
Because we are small, we don’t mass produce images, insuring more exclusivity of the images you purchase. And, owning original art demonstrates a spirit as unique as a Sojourner photograph.
“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw
